Surrealist Salvador Dali is one of the most famous artists of all time. His output includes oils, prints, sculpture, fashion, photography, film, architecture, theatre, and literature. He collaborated with Walt Disney, Alfred Hitchcock, and Christian Dior, and his works can be found in virtually every major museum in the world. A Bolivian desert was named after him, a crater on Mercury was named after him, and Jim Henson created the muppet “Salvador Dada” on Sesame Street. He died while listening to his favorite record of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde, and 18 years after his death, upon exhuming his body for a paternity test, it was found that his iconic moustache was intact.
